No more guess work, Naughty Adult explains how to look after your favourite toy!
Looking after your toy is crucial for its optimal performance and extended use. Most people use the incorrect lubricants with toys which cause silicone breakdown and product failure. Find out what accessories are best with each toy and how to clean your product. Our team are put to the test to provide some friendly helpful information.
Anal Toys
If an item is designed for anal pleasure and anal use, do not transfer the toy to vagina or penis without thoroughly washing the item in question. This will cause bacteria to be transfered from your anal region to your vagina. This can cause infection and other fungal infections.
Please ensure the item you are using is the correct size for its purpose and application. Eg an Elephant will not fit into the boot of a vehicle!
Vibrators
For vibrators, the best form of lubricant to use with your toy is a water based lube. Silicone based lubricants over time can cause premature fibre and material breakdown.
To ensure prolonged use and your vibrator lasts for many years to come, wash vibrators with cold or warm soapy water. Do not under any circumstances use a commercial cleaning aid, detergent or polisher. These chemicals will damage the silicone modules within the item, causing breakdown of silicone.
If you are not going to use your vibrator for a lengthy period or have decided you dont need it, ensure you take the batteries out to not cause battery acid leakage. This will ruin the battery chambers causing fluid escape and corrosion.
Refrain from using toys around areas which are inflamed or with abbrasions. This will cause the area to create unwanted friction which may cause or result in further inflamation.
Masturbators / Strokers
When cleaning these items with real life skin material or future skin, cyberskin, thoroughly wash the item after use and allow to dry. Once completely dry and free of water, cover the item lightly in Talcum Powder. Due to there technical and advanced designs, it is the closest item to real skin and your skin needs moisturising to operate and function to its best ability. The same goes with these items, they need talc powder to ensure they dont dry and crack.
Clean your toy with a damp cloth or cold warm soapy water, then rinse and stand to dry. If you do’nt wash your item after every use, bacteria will grow on the item which may cause some unwanted bacteria to enter your vagina or penis or even anal region which in return could mean unwanted time off in the bedroom.
Condoms
Never store condoms in a wallett or in direct sun light This will cause the latex and silicones to dry out, puncture the casing and condom making this item inaffective to what purchased for “Safe Sex and Unwanted Child Birth”. They cannot be used more than once, so discard after each use by tieing a knot in the condom and placing in bin. Do not flush down the toilet and consider our environment.
Water based and silicone based lubricants are specifically designed for desired pleasure whilst wearing a condom. Vaseline, Olive Oil or moisturiser is not designed for condoms or your toy which may cause not only discomfort, breakdown of your condom latex but may be more than ineffective by being too slippery and can cause inflamation of the vagina, anal region and penis. For all condom information, please refer to Condom Manufacturer websites and wrappers / box for further advice.
Butterflies and Female Masturbators
Some of these products come with whats called Butterfly tails which are an extension of the main product specifically designed to add extra stimulation to anal or vaginal regions. So when cleaning these items, ensure that each bead or nook and cranny is free from lubricant or bodily fluids to eliminate bacteria build up.
Waterproof Items
If a product is targeted for Waterproof, this means the item is “Waterproof” for a limited exposure and use. Storing your item in water for days at a time is classed as neglect and not waterproof! So please dont use your item in a spa or pool and for days or extended period , as your warranty period will be deemed inaffective.
Water Resistant
If a product is marked Water Resistant, this means the item can handle water splash and not excessive water exposure or to be used in water. Putting your item in water will mean your warranty will be innaffective.
Lubricant Use
Lubricants are to be used for added penetration assistance and to eliminate tear of anal and vaginal regions. For anal entry we suggest a water based lubricant such as Titan Men, Pjur, Climax and Colt. Not every water based lubricant is ideal.
Love Dolls and Pleasure Dolls
These items need constant care, so ensure after each use, your love doll is thoroughly cleaned and free from lubricant and bodily fluids to eliminate bacteria and unwanted germs.
Love dolls which are made from cyberskin, flesh, realskin materials (which are also known as Real Life like material) need to be thoroughly driedand free of water and lubricant. Then these items need to be lightly coated in Talc powder to eliminate cracking of the material. As they are made from an advanced material which is a close enough replication of real skin, they need to moisturised with Talc. Do not use any lubricant or moisturiser to act as a substitute for Talc. This may caused over time for the fibres to break down.
Always use water based lubricant with these items.
